It all started in June 2008. I wanted to stay one month with a family from South Africa in the Kalahari Desert followed by one week in the Kruger National Park.

I imagined it wouldn't be easy, but I didn't imagine how wonderful South Africa really was! The silence by night, the beautiful and fascinating animals by day - just like in "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland".

I spent a few days at a farm, arranged between two small mountains. The Kalahari Desert is usually flat though.

There's a big reservation called Tswalu. I've always seen it on television, I've always dreamed of visiting it one day. Well, the South African family had a surprise for me. Two days in Tswalu! I was speechless. And I was lucky, I made an experience I would never forget anymore - a birth of an springbok.

My trip to Kruger National Park was quiet as amazing. A fascinating and spectacular fauna! The imposing park is inimitable.

I hadn't even tought about nature being so untouched and beautiful.

Maide Sounds really interessing. I hope one day I'll also have the opportunity to visit that beauteous continent!
One question: Besides the animals and the landscape, did you also learned something about the people living there? How are they like?

Gerry The people who are living there are very nice. They are the friendliest people I have ever seen in the whole world. They are always happy with what they have :)
